Sunday, April 29, 2012 v2.0

I am happy to invite one and all to take a moment and feast their eyes on the reborn site. The new page comes courtesy of my friend and brother AIT, who after reading of my futile efforts to dreamweave and EZ-Build myself a suitable site, offered his help in the interest of keeping me from taking a crossbow to my laptop in fury. Both myself and my dell are extremely grateful for his intervention

The site went live today, but I havent added any content yet as I am, at the moment, in the O'Hare airport admirals club enjoying some uber-alcoholic concoction the bartender calls a "mongolian motherfucker" while awaiting my next flight. The drink itself is rather unpleasant tasting, and yet Im about to order my third simply because I enjoy saying "gimme a mongolian motherfucker!"

The Book of Abrasax & Other Updates

Following up on my previous post, I am happy to report that The Book of Abrasax is now nearing completion. The illustrations and seals are now in the talented hands of Asterion, who has thus far been successful in bringing them to life in a more dynamic way than I could have hoped for. Meanwhile, I am working diligently to complete the final chapter, entitled "Transcendent & Initiatic Magicks" which I assure you will be well deserving of that name.

Aside from this, I have been working feverishly in creation of a few Table of Practice orders and a set of planetary lamens, for buyers who have been quite patient despite the delays inherent in creation of such items at magickally advantageous times and days. Also keeping me busy has been the procurement of new Talismans and materia for my own use, undertaking to facilitate initiation of a friend and student and of course, mundane life.
Needless to say, I have been quite overtaken by events, hence my neglect of this blog. I am, however, preparing a somewhat lengthy article not unlike those from my earliest days as a blogger, which I think will be useful to all. I will be travelling to the midwest this weekend, on a ten day trip to open a new office, and will be completing it then.

Quick Note

I've just heard from a reader who'd been trying to contact me via the email associated with my website, Please note that this email is not working at present, so if anyone has been trying to reach me there I apologize.
The site is under construction right now, being redesigned and perfected by my G4J brother Chris B., to whom I am seriously indebted! For the time being, I can be reached at my email, and anyone who doesnt yet have it can leave a comment here and I'll send it over to them directly. (Last time I posted it here my inbox became inundated with offers for canadian pharmaceuticals, generic viagra and all manner of other nonsense)

A Review On The Venus Talismans

To a magician, few things are as satisfying as to have your work commended by a fellow practitioner for whom you have a great deal of respect. I woke this morning to find just that having occurred courtesy of Conjureman Ali, who has posted a review of the Venus Talisman I created for him, which I discussed here, and which can be had by emailing me.

To have the endorsement of one as well versed as Conjureman means a lot to me, and I thank him for the honor.

Venutian Talismans Shipped

For those who ordered the Venutian Talismans spoken of in a previous post, all of them have been shipped as of this morning. Because I didn't provide much detail as to their design in the earlier blog, I will give something of an idea now.

The originals after which these were made were discovered in Coptic Egypt, taking the form of certain sacred formulae inscribed using a specific inks on virgin papyrus, consecrated or empowered using prayers to the deities specific to the working, placed in ceramic or clay jars onto which were painted or engraved further words of power or symbols, and then buried in the deserts of Egypt.

My reproduction of these talismans hold true to the original structure as much as possible - hand made papyrus ordered from Egypt, ink made using the formula typical in that period and region with water from the Nile, the name of the deity, in this case Aphrodite appearing in an inverted triangular shape common to the magical talismans of the time and being drawn on using a reed while reciting the accompanying invocation 333 times (for each of the talismans). On the reverse side a design from another Venutian talisman from the same corpus denoting the Alpha and Omega.  The papyrus was then rolled, placed in glass vials with sand taken from the base of the pyramids. The name of the Goddess was then painted upon the glass along with the symbol of Venus.

After creation of the talismans, on the subsequent day and in the hour of Venus, they were consecrated yet again by way of evocation of the Goddess to whom they are dedicated.

I do apologize for the delays, and thank those who ordered them for your patience. There remains one available from someone who was unable to wait, so if anyone else would like to purchase it please do comment with your email address or else email me.
